Sports Games Coming to Social Media
The industry of social media and sports have always been large communities where people can share their opinions, feelings and feel accepted by other members of that community, their worlds are now colliding and are vastly changing due to social media’s thriving pursuit to create content for sports fans to have more engaging users and diversify the user experience. These two experiences of social media sports has always had a cult-like following and now they look to become one.  This article highlights how social media platforms have slowly been negotiating contracts in order to live stream sports content on their platforms. Facebook and Twitter have been the leaders in sports streaming on their platforms with Facebook launching its watch feature and Twitter gaining the streaming rights to Thursday Night Football.  This is very interesting to see how social media is trying to get into the broadcasting aspect and has piqued my interest by showing the diversity of social media. Social media is looking to be social in more than just conversations but trying to create full on experiences for its users. This will be interesting to see how the experience of fans of  teams that have been beloved by generations such as the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Yankees will grow with this new way of engaging with their team and fanbase. In conclusion, I feel there will be more innovation in the field of social media and their involvement in the  sports industry and whether or not this will create a more immersive experience for social media users and sports fans alike.
