Online Marketing Foundations
This Course covered many topics which were helpful. The main things it said to focus on was the mission statement, value proposition and elevator pitch. Interestingly the elevator pitch was very important because of the way that social media works and the limited amount of characters on those sites. It covered a couple of formulas that were useful such as cost per acquisition and lifetime value which help businesses understand how the money that they are spending is going towards advertising. This lead to the highlighting of the use of analytics and how to monitor them on google analytics.Another thing that it covered was how to find web designers as well as app developers. One thing it made very clear when coming to finding the people to help you is to do your research on them and look at their previous work. Other good content that was provided was on website pages was to help grab people's attention such as using teaser pages, squeeze pages, infomercial pages and viral pages. The most interesting thing was the teaser pages because before I thought you should direct people directly to a homepage but that may overload a user. One of the most useful formulas that it taught me was the key performance indicators. These can tell what is working and what is not working when it comes to content you are posting. One thing it can help with is decreasing the bounce rate, which is the rate which people look at a page and leave. Businesses look to complete a task and decrease the bounce rate so they need to reach their audience within seconds. The final thing that was very useful was the use of social media. Social media can be used based on the audience on the page. Each social media connects to a specific demographic which is important based on who someone is trying to target. These videos were very important to helping me learn more about how to use the internet to help drive business success
